IBP 3-Year Training Program

MISSION STATEMENT

Beth Bardovi The mission of IBP's 3-year Professional Training Program is to provide Postgraduate instruction for licensed and license eligible mental health professionals. The focus of this program is to provide each therapist with: 1) skills in observing, understanding, and tracking the client and the underlying themes that impact mental health; and 2) competence to implement strategies and tactics for therapeutic treatment. This is achieved through a somatic approach to standard models of psychotherapeutic treatment. Using the somatic tools of awareness, breath, and movement, IBP therapists teach clients to heighten their inner awareness and energetic aliveness, creating opportunities to resolve mental health issues in a deep, efficient, lasting, and holistic way.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

IBP Training Program

The 3-year program provides a 400-hour practitioner curriculum, where students engage in hands-on practice with supervised sessions and case consultation. For even the most competent therapist, training cultivates new skills and fosters a deeper understanding of clients and the client-therapist transference. Experienced therapists and allied professionals learn new skills and deepen their own personal work. Less experienced therapists and allied professionals learn with refreshing clarity and confidence. Many students report profound personal growth and positive life changes as part of their training experience.

All classes are taught by IBP Certified Teachers, who are licensed to practice medicine, psychotherapy, and/or counseling. They are seasoned clinical therapists and lecturers. Each class has several teaching assistants. Teaching Assistants are IBP Certified Practitioners in the Teacher Training Program.

The IBP Central Institute in Los Angeles currently offers a weekend intensive training format, meeting one 3-day weekend per month for a seven month yearly semester.

IBP is licensed by the State of California to provide Post Secondary Education and is certified to grant Continuing Education Credits.
